College of Engineering

  • :About the College


  • The branch of the College of Engineering at King Abdulaziz University, located in North Jeddah, was established based on the decision of the University President No. 13545/Q dated 15/9/1431 AH to establish a branch of the College of Engineering in North Jeddah. This branch initially included the following academic departments: Production Engineering and Mechanical Systems Design, Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, Thermal Engineering and Water Desalination Technology, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Materials Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, and Mining Engineering.

    However, the activated departments at the time of establishment were Mechanical Engineering, Industrial. Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering

    Later, by the decision of the University President No. 3771/Q dated 16/3/1434 AH, the branch of the College of Engineering in North Jeddah was converted into an independent college, following the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Chairman of the Higher Education Council, as per the royal directive No. 7385 dated 26/2/1434 AH. The independent college currently includes the following academic departments: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical and Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Architecture.

    Jeddah University Students from the College of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Won the Silver Medal at the International Geneva Conference and the Chinese Delegation Award for Creativity and Innovation. The achievement took place at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions, Geneva, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Al-Lihyani, for the project titled “Load Management System.”
