The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at University of Jeddah was established in 1431 H (2010 G). The Department offers a general ECE program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. This program consists of core courses, to give students the fundamental background that is necessary for all Electrical and Computer Engineers, in addition to elective courses. The core courses cover topics in different ECE fields including Electrical Power Engineering, Electronics, Communications, Signal Processing, Control Systems, and Computer Engineering. Moreover, the students in the regular track have to choose an additional set of four specialized elective courses in any one or more of the ECE fields stated in the curriculum.
The Department is primarily concerned with the provision of high caliber engineers in all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering to work for governmental and industrial organizations in the Kingdom and worldwide.
